MindUnlocked

About

I know what it is to feel lost.

Hi, I am Laurence, a hypnotherapist and the founder of MindUnlocked. I built this space for the woman I used to be.

Laurence, founder of MindUnlocked

People have always fascinated me.

That curiosity first led me to study psychology at the Université de Montréal, followed by addiction research at a laboratory affiliated with McGill University. I wanted to understand why people think, feel and behave the way they do.

Life, however, had other plans.

My career moved into a very different world: data analysis, dashboards, spreadsheets and helping departments communicate with each other when they didn’t seem to speak the same language.

Looking back, I realise the thread never really changed.

I was still trying to understand people.

Alongside that career came some of the hardest years of my life.

Grief that I didn’t allow myself to feel for a long time.

A physical health crisis that took years to heal. There was no quick fix. No miracle treatment. Just slow, deliberate work with both body and mind.

I know what it costs to hold everything together while quietly falling apart.

I also know what it takes to come back from it, because I did.

For years, psychotherapy helped me understand myself deeply.

Hypnotherapy helped me experience change instead of simply talking about it.

That difference changed the way I think about therapy forever.

When my corporate chapter came to an end, I trained in hypnotherapy through the Anglo European College of Hypnotherapy, earning my diploma and NLP Practitioner certification through the National Council for Hypnotherapy.

MindUnlocked is what grew from everything that came before.

My background in psychology. Research. Years spent understanding people professionally. My own experiences. And the belief that therapy should feel thoughtful, deeply human and surprisingly approachable.

How I work

Careful. Unhurried. Real.

I work with a small number of clients at a time, one to one. I don’t follow a script. I don’t prescribe a number of sessions at the start. I work with what actually comes up.

I take my time. I ask a lot of questions. I believe that most of what my clients need is already in them, and that the work is about clearing what got in the way.

Sessions take place online, which means you can work with me wherever you are. Most of my clients are based in the UK, though I work with people across Europe and beyond.

“You’re not here to perform or to please me. I meet you where you are, and we go together from there. Don’t apologise for how you show up today.”

Training & qualifications

Properly trained.
Properly supervised.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Université de Montréal and am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist. I completed my clinical training with the Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis and work within the ethical framework and code of practice of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), the UK’s leading not-for-profit hypnotherapy professional association.

I work within ongoing clinical supervision and take continuing professional development seriously. If you have questions about my training or qualifications, I am happy to talk you through them on your discovery call.

A note on ethics

I don’t work with clients whose needs fall outside my competence. If I don’t feel that hypnotherapy is the right approach for you, I will tell you honestly and, where I can, point you somewhere more useful.

Work with me

If any of this sounds familiar, come and say hello.

The discovery call is free and carries no obligation. It is just a conversation to see if working together might help.
